Press release – Change is needed in Brussels

Among the Brusselian elite the principle of the blind leading the blind prevails.

Brussels is unable to detect the existing European problems therefore the aim of the upcoming European Parliamentary elections is to finally open their eyes.

Without a doubt, the most significant political event of 2024 will be the European elections. In Brussels, the principle of the blind leading the blind is in full effect, since the Brusselian elite have long been unable to see the real problems of the common European citizen. They are blind to the massive influx of illegal migrants; to the need of providing protection to European children against liberal indoctrination and gender ideology; to the dangers of the continued support of the war; to the economic consequences of the ill-advised sanctions; to the rising costs of utilities due to the forced dark green transition; and to the ongoing loss of European competitiveness as a result of economic disintegration.   This lack of vision from Brussels is especially noticeable when it comes to migration. Across Europe, we are witnessing mounting migratory pressures on the EU. The number of illegal border crossings at the EU’s external borders in 2023 increased by 17% compared to 2022, reaching 355 300, which is the highest figure since 2015. The number of attempted entries at Hungary’s southern border alone amounted to nearly 171 000 occasions this year.

Hungary has been saying it for eight years that Brussels’ approach to the migrant crisis turned out to be a failure, that the problem should be kept out of Europe as it should be tackled right where it arises, not in our own backyard. Once you have set foot in the EU, it is difficult to get you out. For the sake of clarity, let’s look at some data: in the first half of 2023, 217 070 non-EU individuals were deemed to be expelled but eventually only less than the fifth of them were actually forced to leave. The rest would remain in Europe as illegal immigrants.

Hungary is right by stating that there is only one way to stop illegal migration: by making those who want to enter the EU wait outside the EU until a decision is taken. Illegal migration has to be stopped at the border and the problems need to be resolved where they have arisen, rather than being brought into Europe.   Instead of the functioning Hungarian model, Brussels has imposed a migration pact that is not part of the solution, but the problem itself. In fact, it seeks to establish migrant ghettos and introduce a mandatory quota.

We Hungarians do not want any illegal immigrants, we do not want to build migrant ghettos, and we do not want to suffer the consequences of other misguided decisions taken by Brussels. The 2024 EP elections provide the opportunity for the people to decide whether they want to keep the blind elite of Brussels in power or they want to lead the change. We hope that the latter scenario will prevail, and the voters put their trusts in the right-wing parties of Europe and Hungary that are looking for answers to the real problems of the people.
